INVESTING IN MASSAGE IS AN INVESTMENT IN YOUR HEALTH
Swedish: A circulatory massage using long sweeping, kneading, and friction strokes to promote increased blood flow thru muscle tissue. This is a full-body massage which helps to bring a sense of wholeness, increases overall relaxation, flushes toxins, and improves circulation.
Deep Tissue: This therapy is designed to return the body to a state of ease and balance by eliminating the uneven pulls on the skeleton caused by contracted muscles and constricted fascia. Myofascial techniques are used to apply traction to the skin and underlying tissues to slowly and gently push, pull, and stretch fascial tissues and break fascial adhesions. Slow compressive strokes are then applied along the length of a muscle allowing contracted muscles to relax. Slow stretching is also done for further lengthening.
Neuromuscular Therapy: A specific form of deep tissue work that treats specific muscular dysfunction known as trigger points. Trigger points are tiny areas of irritation that form within strained bands of muscle tissue. They refer sensations of pain, weakness, or numbness to surrounding or distant areas of muscle tissue. Concentrated finger pressure is applied to specific areas of intense muscles tension to break the cycle of spasm and pain. This therapy is used in conjunction with other modalities.
Prenatal: Gentle massage for mothers-to-be! Reduces stress, promotes relaxation, and increases circulation of blood and lymph to mother and fetus. May contribute to shorter labor with less pain or complications. Supports postpartum recovery-restoration of abdomen and weight bearing muscles and joints.
Sports Massage: Focuses on specific muscle groups to reduce or eliminate factors that interfere with performance, such as muscle spasms, tendonitis, and muscle fatigue. It can be used before or after participating in an even, as an adjunct to training, or to help recovery from soft-tissue injury.
Classic Back/Spot Massage: A relaxing back, shoulder, neck, and scalp massage, or a focus on a spot treatment.
Reflexology: Acupressure applied to the nerve endings of the feet. Great for digestion and overall balance.
Hot Stone Massage: Hot stone provides a deep meditative experience for the body and mind, relieving pain and stress.
